Stephenville takes the field for its second Spring football session Monday, itís first under new head coach Joseph Gillespie.

With school out, the Yellow Jackets will hit the gridiron at 8 a.m. Monday. Beginning Tuesday, the schoolday practices will begin at 4 p.m.

Spring ball will culminate in the second annual Blue vs Gold Spring game at Tarletonís Memorial Stadium on May 23.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 10-2 season that ended in the area round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Stephenville was ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press 4A poll for four weeks in 2007 before a loss to Everman ended hopes of a district championship.

Two weeks later, after dismantling Fort Worth O.D. Wyatt in the bi-district round, Stephenville was eliminated by Wichita Falls Rider for the third time in four seasons.

Chad Morris moved on to defending 4A D1 champ Lake Travis on Feb. 5, and Gillespie was named head coach and athletics director 10 days later.
