They say records are meant to be broken.

They said right.

Stephenville had two relay teams break school records at the Bluebonnet Relays in Brownwood last weekend.

The Yellow Jackets 4x100m team won the event in 42.65 seconds, while the 4x200m placed third in 1:30.75.

Running the 4x100m for the Jackets were Jordan Jones, Preston Brown, Aiavion Edwards and Cash Cameron Burriss. The 4x200m featured Jones, Brown and Edwards along with Cash Cashell.

The Jackets picked up another first-place finish from senior Nic Perez, who heaved the discus 157 feet, 4 inches.

Stephenville won two silver medals as Jones was second in the 100m in 10.84 seconds, Brown was second in the 200m in 22.37 ticks and D.J. Vanden Berge was second in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 1.75 inches.

Vanden Berge was one of three Jackets to place in the shot put, as Kody Josserand was in third at 42-4 and Kody Hook was sixth at 38-10.5.

Other third-place finishes came from Padyn Giebler with a discus toss of 131-3 and Edwards with a 100m time of 11.08 seconds.

Walker Lloyd was fourth in the 1,600m in 5:13.71 and Brown was fifth in the long jump at 19-6.5.
