INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Tarleton TexAnn golf team has been invited to the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament to be held at The Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Ariz. on May 5-7.

The TexAnns are the defending West Regional champions after claiming the title last year behind then freshman Shraddhanjali Singh who won the individual title in 2007.

Tarleton has won nine tournaments this season, the most at any level of collegiate golf for either men or women, including the Lone Star Conference Championship last weekend.

The TexAnns are the top-ranked team in the region heading into the tournament, followed by St. Edward’s, Western Washington, Northeastern State, Western New Mexico and St. Martin’s.

Three individuals, Cecilia Chudivan, CSU-Monterey Bay; Jessica McKay, Grand Canyon; and Raelynn Farthing, Central Oklahooma, have all been selected to compete as individual medalists.

The TexAnns will begin teeing off on Monday, May 5 from the first hole at 7:54 a.m. PST. After playing 18 holes on Monday, the team will play 18 again on both Tuesday and Wednesday, May 6-7.
