The Dublin Lions finished as 55-44 victors in a back-and-forth season-opening battle with Breckenridge Tuesday night.

Hunter Turner, leading the team with 18 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals, was a major contributor to the Lionís success.

Not far behind was Jonathan Pringle with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and one

assist for the night.

The Lions led 26-21 at the half, but scored only five points during the third period to allow Breckenridge to steal the advantage.

Trailing 34-31, Dublin exploded for a 24-point fourth period in which the Lions connected on 14 of 16 at the charity stripe.

Following Turner and Pringle, Edgar Rodriguez added eight points, Ike Damstra scored seven and grabbed seven rebounds, and Klint Lewis added five points, three boards and a pair of steals.

An area rival will visit Dublin on Friday as the Lions look to make it two in a row against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
