Ten of the top 20 finishers in Saturday’s Milk Trot 5K run were from Stephenville, while another two were from Dublin.

Everyone was chasing Corpus Christi runner Bryan Ruiz, who was the first across the finish line in the event held annually in conjunction with Dairy Fest and other June Dairy Month celeberations.  Ruiz, 21, finished in 17 minutes, 57.9 seconds, almost three minutes faster than second place.

Ronnie Fellers and Braden Bozer combined to give Stephenville a 2-3 hometown finish.  Fellers, 56, was the second oldest runner in the event and finished in 20:52.6, while Bozer, 21, stopped the clock at 21:21.4.

The rest of the top eight were all local runners: Danny Eoff, 42, of Dublin, was fourth in 24:32.2; Kristen Menzel, 23, of Stephenville, was the first lady and fifth overall finisher in 25:31.9; Thad Anglin, 43, of Stephenville, was sixth in 25:46.6, Kline Jones, 14, of Dublin, was seventh overall and the youngest runner in the top 20 in 25:51.0; John Salinas, 27, of Stephenville, was eighth in 25:51.1.

Other locals to crack the top 20 included Paul Baker in 13th, Ed Dittfurth in 14th, Michael Jones in 15th, Cody Martin in 19th and Credence Baker in 20th.
