Henderson Junior High seventh grade quarterback Brennen Wooten is one of 60 seventh graders across the country who have been selected to compete in the Junior Rank Diamond Bowl Dec. 30 in Tempe, Ariz.
Junior Rank president and CEO Shaon Berry says the Diamond Bowl gives elite junior athletes from across the country a unique opportunity to compete against the best and showcase their talent.
Diamond Bowl Week begins with registration and special activities on Dec. 27 and culminates with both seventh and eighth grade games Dec. 30 at Mesa Community College.
"We spent months scouring over thousands of nominations from across the country to chose, what we believe, is America's next generation of outstanding student football players," Berry said.
Present and former NFL players will serve as coaches for the event.
