The Stephenville Catsí effort to reach the Pony 13-year-old Division World Series came up a little short this past weekend.

The Cats were eliminated from a Houston qualifying tournament with a 6-3 loss to Sugarland.

Stephenville opened the tournament with a 5-3 victory over Brownsville.

In that game, hitting stars were Michael Warren and Trent Morrison (three hits each), Tyler Floyd (two doubles), and Adam Noonkester, Drew Polk, Josh Jenkins, and Brian Picha (one hit each).

Ryan Drew had two walks. Picha, Warren, and Polk combined for the pitching victory.

Connor Washington and Josh Jenkins played well defensively.

The Cats then lost to Kingwood, 9-0, before being eliminated by Sugarland.

The Cats finished their season with a 16-12 record.
