WOLFE CITY - The Tarleton TexAnn golf team had a record-setting day Monday, shooting a first round 302 at the Lion Fall Invitational to beat the previous tournament record of 311, which was held by Midland Junior College since 2001.

Sophomore, Andrea Lowe led the TexAnns after shooting a first round tournament record 72. Three former players held the previous record of 73. Lowe leads the tournament and is followed by teammate, Carla Cooper who shot a two-over 74. Melanie Tham (77) is tied for third, while Maury Shock is tied for sixth after shooting a 79. Shraddhanjali Singh (83) is also competing for the TexAnns and ended the day tied for 18th.

Morgan German is competing as an individual for the TexAnns and finished the first round with an 89.

Other teams competing in the tournament include Central Oklahoma (323), Texas A&M-Commerce (331), Southwestern Oklahoma (332), Cameron (343), Dallas Baptist (349), St. Mary's (361), East Central (364) and Newman (374).

The TexAnns took a 21-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round.
