Dublin picked up 18 points from six foot senior post Kim Spivey and led the entire second half on its way to knocking off Lipan 49-45 in a high school girls basketball season opener at Roy and Lynn Neff Gym Tuesday.

The Lady Lions were ahead by nine at halftime and led by 10 early in the fourth quarter.

"We missed some shots we should have put down, but overall we had pretty good shot selection," said Dublin head coach Randy Parks. "That's one thing we want to to avoid is poor shot selection."

Lipan never pulled within a possession of the Lady Lions, who also received double-digit scoring efforts from Wakely Brown (12) and Lauren Duncan (10).

Dublin visits Tolar at 6 p.m. Friday.
