Tarleton State strength and conditioning coach Rod Cole continues to direct Texan football players through a conditioning test at the start of training camp Thursday night, while one player had to be helped off the field. The test consisted of 16 sprints with only seconds of rest between each. Linemen ran 90 yards each time, while skill players ran 110 yards. After the test, Cole said, “Albert Haynesworth would never make it through that,” referring to the Washington Redskins defensive end who took several tries before finally passing a test consisting of two 300-yard back-and-forth shuttle runs. During the final sprint, one player was heard shouting the word, “Freedom,” in mock of the hit movie Braveheart.
