It seems to have become a weekly occurance. Another power lifting meet, another gold medal around the neck of Stephenville’s Colby Lozano.
Lozano’s most recent victory on the high school lifting circuit stands as his most important of the 2008 season, as he claimed the regional championship in the 165-pound weight class. Lozano posted a total of 1,300 pounds at the regional meet on Saturday.
Joining Lozano at the state meet will be Yellow Jacket Josh Grantham, who finished third at regionals to qualify as the first alternate in the 275-pound class. Grantham’s three-lift total was 1,510.
Three others represented Stephenville in the regional championships. Corey Staten was in the 114-pound division and totaled 680 pounds, while Dwayne Phillips posted a total of 1,290 in the 242-pound class. David Castillo was in the 220-pound class and totaled 1,310.
