Hundreds of Tarleton State Basketball enthusiasts packed the ball rooms of the Thompson Student Center on the Tarleton campus Friday, paying tribute to Coach Lonn Reisman and the teams and players who helped to make Tarleton a perennial power on the hardwood.

The line-up of speakers read like a who’s-who of Tarleton hoops past and present. From the most loyal of fans and supporters to the school’s all-time leading scorer and assistant coaches past and present, all shared memories made at Tarleton, and a deep, sincere appreciation for the influence of Reisman on their lives.

Popular subjects throughout the evening included Reisman’s famed “14 Days of Hell,”-which players from Tarleton’s NAIA days under the veteran coach swear was more like 40-plus days- and the impact his determination, motivation and will to succeed had on each speaker in their lives beyond the court.

Following the banquet, Reisman and former players in attendance were recognized Saturday at halftime of Tarleton’s home football game.

Twenty years with conference championships and deep playoff runs in both the NAIA and NCAA. Twenty years of amassing 392 wins. Twenty years of success in the union between Lonn Reisman and Tarleton State University.
