Tarleton Sports Information

STEPHENVILLE – The Tarleton baseball team broke out the brooms for just the second time this season as they finished off a four-game sweep of West Texas A&M on Saturday, taking both games of a doubleheader, 13-5 and 7-3, at Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex.

It was Tarleton’s first four-game sweep since Feb. 16-17, 2007 when the Texans swept Southwestern Oklahoma in Stephenville. The Texans swept Henderson State earlier this season in a three-game series.

Charles Desmarias (3-for-4, 2-for-3) and Chase Cundiff (2-for-4, 2-for-4) both had multiple hits games on the day. Desmarias accounted for six Tarleton runs, crossing home plate five times and driving in one. Cundiff accounted for five as he drove in two and scored three.

Jason Holmes went 3-for-3 in game two and had a bases clearing double to tie the game 3-3 in the middle innings of game two. Holmes led the team with five RBI for the day.

TSU improved to 18-19, including 17-19 in the Lone Star Conference.

The Buffs fell to 8-28 overall and 4-22 in LSC play.

Tarleton outscored WT, 65-18, over the four-game span and have now scored more runs this season (306) than they did last season (284).
