Karlee Easterling is a 5-5 junior setter on Stephenville High School’s state-ranked and playoff-bound volleyball squad, and a straight-A student.

Last season, Karlee was on the junior varsity but was brought up to the varsity for more depth in the playoffs.

This season in district play, Karlee was second on the team in district play in assists with 117, and fourth in digs with 50.

In the off season, she plays on a club volleyball team based in the Metroplex.

Coach Shay Douglas’s Honeybees (27-17) were ranked 20th in the state in Class 4A in the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association entering their bi-district playoff game against Krum on Tuesday at Aledo High School. The winner will advance to the area playoff round against either Graham or Big Spring.

The E-T recently served up five questions for Karlee, and here are her returns:

E-T: What do you love most about playing volleyball?

Karlee: “ I love the close games. I love the adrenaline I get when it’s a point-by-point game.”

E-T: What is your second favorite sport?

Karlee: “I love to watch football. I think the game of football is really interesting to watch. I really like Alabama.”

E-T: What is your favorite subject in school?

Karlee: “ Algebra and math. I love it. It just all makes sense to me.”

E-T: Do you have any plans for a major in college?

Karlee: “Criminal justice. I want to be a detective. It’s always interested me — that form of work. I think I’d never get bored.”

E-T: What would be your ideal job?

Karlee: I want to be in behavioral analysis. Learn how to read people, and interview them for cases.”
