The Stephenville Honeybees took Class 5A Granbury to four sets on the road Tuesday but ended up dropping a 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-21 decision to the Lady Pirates.

Chloe Goodman and Jayci Morton led the Honeybees in kills, with 10 and nine, respectively.

Gabie Lucero led SHS in digs with 18, followed by Hannah Huckabee with 15 and Morton with 14.

Huckabee posted 20 assists and Karlee Easterling added 12 for the Honeybees.

Morton returned to action after missing several matches with a knee injury.

On Friday, Aug. 31, the Honeybees were scheduled to have their first regular-season home game, taking on Crawford.

Stephenville’s next game will be Tuesday, at Abilene High (varsity at 6 p.m.).
