Following five straight wins over St. Edward's and Midwestern State last week, Tarleton has moved up two spots to No. 15 in the latest national poll by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. It's the highest ranking of the season for Tarleton.
For Tarleton, it's the ninth week in school history that the TexAnns have been a national top 20 team. Tarleton continues its record streak of weeks in the top 20 at five straight.
It's the sixth straight week for Tarleton in the poll after being No. 25, 20, 18, 16, and 17 in the previous five weeks. The TexAnns are one of four Lone Star Conference teams in the national top 25, joining Angelo State (6), West Texas A&M (12), and Texas A&M-Commerce (13).
With the 43 wins that were registered in the voting system for this week, Tarleton has the fourth-most victories among nationally-ranked teams. The other three teams with at least 43 wins are in the top four.
