PALM DESERT, Calif. – Tarleton golf is in fourth place after the opening round of the Augustana Spring Fling at the Classic Club Golf Course.

The TexAnns shot a 316 (+28) on the Par 72, 5,901-yard course. CSU-San Marcos holds the top spot on the team leaderboard with a 306 (+18). St. Edward's is second with a 309 (+21) and Indianapolis is one spot ahead of the TexAnns in third with a 311 (+23).

The TexAnns were second among all teams with 55 pars and also had three birdies.

Sarah Gee led the TexAnns on the day, carding a 77 (+5) and tied for sixth. Gee sank a team-best two birdies and had 12 pars while shooting even par on the back nine. Gee's 12 pars were fifth most among individuals.

Junie Khaw and Casey Leatherman are each tied for 11th with a 78 (+6). Khaw had one birdie and 11 pars. The freshman was 2-over on the front nine. Leatherman led the TexAnns with 13 pars, which is third most among all players. Leatherman was 1-over par on the back nine.

Casey Wild is tied for 28th, scoring an 83 (+11). Wild had 11 pars on the afternoon. Breanna Smith is tied for 37th with an 86 (+14) with eight pars in the round.

The TexAnns will play the final round today with a 2:30 p.m. CT shotgun start.
