The Stephenville Honeybees improved to 4-0 in District 4-4A girls soccer play Tuesday with a 5-0 triumph at home over Mineral Wells.

Five Honeybees recorded goals in the win, which was their ninth in a row. Coach Casey Weil’s Honeybees, the defending Class 4A girls state champions, are 17-2 on the season.

Stephenville’s goals came from Cody Hawks, Cheney Carrillo, Gracie Bales, Brinkley Harlow and Natalie Elizondo.

The Honeybees credited with assists were Ciara Johnston with two, and Claire Choate, Emily Kirbo and Haleigh Beam with one each.

The Honeybees are in first place in the district standings, while Abilene Wylie is second at 3-1, followed by Brownwood at 1-3 and Mineral Wells at 0-5. The Lady Rams are 14-7 overall.

The Honeybees and the SHS boys are scheduled to play Abilene Wylie tonight.
