Tarleton got its revenge win over Cameron in convincing fashion, cruising past the Aggies, 68-59, in from over over 1,800 fans on Thursday in Wisdom Gym.
Tarleton fell to the Aggies by one in Lawton back in December, but it was a different story this time around. Led by Corinthian Ramsey's 29 points and eight assists and Josh Hawley's 11 points and career-high 17 rebounds, the Texans improved to 11-8 overall and 6-4 in the Lone Star Conference.
Cameron led 10-9 in the early stages of the first half before the Texans stepped on the gas and went on a 13-2 run to build a double-digit lead at 22-12. The 3-ball helped the Texans pull away, as Ramsey drilled a pair from long range during the run and Preston Enloe added his first of three 3-pointers.
Enloe's third triple came at the first-half buzzer, sending the Texans to the locker room up 35-22.
Sam Marshall's corner 3-pointer gave the Texans their largest lead of the game at 40-26 with 16:45 remaining in the game. The Texans connected on 10 3-pointers, marking the eighth time this season with double-digit 3's.
Moments later, the Aggies put together a 9-0 to cut the Texan lead to within five and would make it a four-point game with 10 minutes left. It was as close as they would get to the Texans as Josh Hawley scored six of his 11 points in the final five minutes on a pair of high-flying dunks to put a stamp on the victory.
For Hawley, it was his ninth double-double of the season and grabbed 10 of his 17 boards in the second half. The sophomore also added two blocks and four steals.
Deshawn Riddick reached double figures in scoring with 10, giving the senior 29 career games with at least 10 points. Riddick also added four assists.
Jesse Hill posted four points, but was big on the defensive end grabbing seven rebounds and blocked two shots in 24 minutes.
The Texans finished the game shooting 52 percent from the floor and improved to 7-0 when the shoot at least 48 percent and are 10-0 when the shoot a higher percentage than the opponent.
Tarleton will host Midwestern State for its next game on Saturday, Jan. 27, on 4 p.m.
