Two girls and one boy placed second in their respective divisions Saturday as Stephenville High School’s powerlifting team opened its 2018 season at a meet at Dublin High School and the Honeybees took third place in the final girls team standings.
Blaine Gluck and Mallory Gunter earned second place among the girls for the Honeybees.
The SHS girls had a third-place finish from Jessica Ebeling, and Norma Hernandez was fourth. Kenzie Mayes took ninth place.
Among the boys, Stephenville’s Issic DeLaCruz was runner-up in his division.
Jacob Poston placed third for the Yellow Jackets.
Also for SHS, Carson Elston and Michael Felan placed seventh in their respective divisions, Lane York was eighth, Charlie Hughes was ninth and Dillon Schumann was 15th.
The next powerlifting meet for the SHS boys and girls is set for Thursday in Glen Rose, set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
