The Texan and TexAnn cross country teams have both been ranked No. 10 in the latest regional poll released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week.

The men are coming off a 37-point first-place finish at the Aggie Open hosted by Texas A&M. Justin Botello was the top finisher at the meet meet finishing in first place with a time of 15:21.40. Quenten Lasseter finished in second place in 15:24.80 while Jarred Elizondo came in fifth in a time of 15:31.00. Michael Simchowas also a top-10 finisher at the meet, the sophomore finished sixth in a time of 15:40.30. The Texans are one of two Lone Star Conference teams ranked in the regional poll joining West Texas A&M who came in seventh. This is the fourth consecutive week the men have made the regional poll.

On the women's side, Esmeralda Fuentes won the meet with a time of 18:30.90. Gretzel Jimenez was one of two TexAnns to finish top-10, as she came in seventh with a time of 19:33.10. This is the first time the TexAnns have been regionally ranked since 2015. They join Lone Star foe West Texas A&M as they checked in at ninth.

Tarleton will compete in the ASU Blue & Gold Classic tonight hosted by Angelo, with the women (6k) beginning at 5:10 and the men (8k) following at 5:45.
