Following their historic state championship win this year, the Stephenville Honeybees plan to host their first-ever soccer camp, just for girls.

And there is still time to sign up for the four-day camp which will be held from 8:30 a.m. - noon July 17-20 for girls entering first through ninth grade.

“We have talked about doing something like this for a long time, but didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes,” Coach Casey Weil said in a previous interview. “But I had 20 to 25 parents ask me, and after the season we had, what a great time to do it.”

Cost for registration prior to Friday, July 14, is $55 and $60 on the day the camp begins. A T-shirt is included.

Weil and coaches Any Schrutka and Katie Fulton will lead the camp, but girls will get some instruction from former Honeybee players Bayleigh Chaviers, who is playing soccer at the University of Miami, and state champs Savannah Alford and Kalee Wright.

Registration forms can be picked up from the athletic secretary at the high school.
