Following their historic state championship win this year, the Stephenville Honeybees plan to host their first-ever soccer camp, just for girls.
“We have talked about doing something like this for a long time, but didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes,” said Coach Casey Weil. “But I had 20 to 25 parents ask me, and after the season we had, what a great time to do it.”
The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. - noon July 17-20 at Stephenville High School for girls entering first through ninth grade.
Cost for registration prior to July 14 is $55 and $60 on the day the camp begins. A T-shirt is included.
Weil and coaches Any Schrutka and Katie Fulton will lead the camp, but girls will get some instruction from former Honeybee players Bayleigh Chaviers, who is playing soccer at the University of Miami, and state champs Savannah Alford and Kalee Wright.
Registration forms can be picked up from the athletic secretary at the high school.
