GRANBURY – Area golfers have until Thursday, May 18, to sign up for the upcoming 2017 Pecan Plantation VFD & EMS auxiliary golf tournament, slated for Saturday, May 20.

Participants have an opportunity to enjoy a friendly game of golf, win prizes and raise money for a noble cause. Golfers throughout Hood and neighboring counties are invited to organize teams to compete in a four-person scramble, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at the Pecan Plantation golf course.

Cost to enter is $40 per person. Golfers can pick up a registration form at the Pecan Pro Shop (call 817-573-2645) or request a form by calling Carol Blakemore at 817-243-4322. The Pro Shop will establish teams by handicap. Mulligans can be purchased on the day of the tournament.

For the first time ever, Granbury Motorsports has generously donated a 2016 Yamaha FX SVHO 3-seater fully loaded jet ski for a “hole in one” prize. Raffle tickets will be sold for a gift basket provided by Revolver Brewing at the clubhouse on the day of the tournament.

Additionally, Pro Shop credit will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, along with a credit for “closest to the hole,” “closest to the line,” and “longest drive,” including both men and women.

All proceeds from the competition will benefit the Pecan Plantation volunteer fire department and emergency medical service.
