I’m no longer under the age of 40. I’m 48, and if you round that off it means I’m closer to 50 than I am 40, which is a real bummer.
But I still remember those years in my 20s and 30s when I was raising three kids, moving up in my career and trying to find balance between my sense of volunteerism and sheer exhaustion.
It was an important and meaningful time in my life, but it wasn’t always easy.
There were struggles, frustrations and disappointments, but what I remember most about that time is the overwhelming pride I felt for my family, my career and excitement about the future.
I had fallen in love with this community and was looking for ways to serve.
In March, the E-T published a magazine dedicated to honoring those under the age of 40 who are making a difference in Erath County.
We received more than 90 nominations, and narrowing them down to 40 was tough.
But we are ready to do it again and we need your help.
The E-T will publish a third edition of 40 under 40 in March 2019, but the project is a big undertaking and it’s time to start accepting nominations.
If you would like to nominate someone for consideration, drop me an email with their name and a short paragraph about why they should be included in this very special project.
The nominees must live in Erath County and must be under 40 in March 2019.
This project is a true labor of love and we can hardly wait to get started.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
