Many years ago, nearly every home had one or more firearms. Yet there were only isolated incidents of mass shootings.  Why? Because the majority of people had respect for authority and respect for the dangers of handling a gun. In addition, most people believed that one day they would stand before God, the Creator, and answer for what they had done in this life.

Over the last 40-50 years, we have excluded God from our classrooms and civic discourse.  We have mocked and ridiculed those who believe the Bible.  We do not teach children to respect authority, not in the home, not for the police and not for the rule of law.

And now we are surprised and dismayed at the number of mass shootings?  We shouldn’t be.  It is not the fault of the gun – individual people choose to murder fellow human beings.
