MERIDIAN - Bernice Gibson Edler, 90, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, in Clifton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Strawn with Rev. Jim Troutman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Marion Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.

Bernice was born on Jan. 18, 1918, in Thurber, Texas to L. C. “Bud” and Julia (Abbott) Gibson. She grew up in the Thurber, Mingus, Gordon and Strawn area. She moved to Dallas where she worked as a clerk for many years in a department store. Bernice later moved to Meridian where she spent the rest of her life until her death. She married Harry Edler and he preceded her in death, as well as three brothers; Clifford Gibson, Herman Gibson and Myrle Gibson. She was a Baptist.

Bernice is survived by a nephew, Gaylon Gibson and wife Kathye of Pasadena, their three children and their four grandchildren, as well as numerous other extended family and friends.
