Zelda C. Martin, 94, passed away on Monday Oct. 1, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nora Fitch officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Zelda was born on Aug. 3, 1913, in Stephenville to the late Seymour and Dollie Clendenin. She Zelda grew up on a small farm in Erath County. She graduated from Parvis High School near Dublin and attended Tarleton College in Stephenville. Zelda taught Elementary School and she worked several years in banking, in Midland and Stanton.

Zelda enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Her special love was summer trips with Hubert to the mountains of Colorado were they loved to fly fish. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Thomas Hubert Martin who was her dear companion and the love of her life, also brothers C.B. Clendendin, Cecil Clendenin, and Ray Clendendin, and 1 sister, Joycelyn Ebmonson.

She is survived by two sisters, Effie Oliver of Shreveport La., and Vivian Donahoe of San Antonio, a special friend, Helen Grewell of Odessa, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
