STEPHENVILLE — Dr. Robert “Bob” Netherland, 74, a Math/Physics Professor at Tarleton State University, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at his residence.
Services will 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church, Stephenville, with Reverend Dennis Kissell and Rev. Dr. Sharon Bryant officiating. Following the services there will be military honors conducted outside the Church.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Lacy Funeral Home.

He was born on December 22, 1934, to the late parents, George and Hattie (Ward) Netherland, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Robert married Diane Kissell on June 19, 1976, in Dallas County.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stephenville.
Robert was a member of the American Legion and was a Pheresis Blood Donor who gave freely and frequently to help save lives.
He was a Marine Veteran and served in the Vietnam War and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Netherland of Stephenville, his daughter, Pamela and husband, Jesse Gaitan of Dublin; his sons, Paul and wife, Leslie Netherland of Seabrook, Peter Netherland of North Carolina, and Philip Netherland of Stephenville; his sisters, Glenda Mooney and husband, James of Minnesota, and Elaine Fredericks and husband, Ray of Indiana; brother, Boyce Netherland and wife Retha of Mississippi. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Teresa, Marina, Jennifer, Justin and Kristin and 2 great-grandchildren, Kameron, and Kelsee. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy, August 1, 2008.
