LAWTON - David Lynn Bridges, 59, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Toby Walker officiating. Burial will be in Hastings, Okla. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. this evening at Granthamís Funeral Home.

David was born on April 28, 1949, in Hastings to Lonnie Ray and Lucy Bridges. He attended school in Hastings, Temple and graduated from Stephenville High School in July 1967. He attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville. David joined the First Baptist Church and was baptized on Feb. 24, 1966.

David was inducted into the US Army on May 27, 1969. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was so proud to be a member of the 2nd Battalion, 23nd Field Artillery.

Upon release from the US Army, he entered the workforce. He was employed by Frito Lay in Jose, Calif., Genault Industries in Stephenville, Coca-Cola in Plainview, All Service Contractors in Dallas, Sooner AirGas/Western Welding in Duncan and Lawton and Cherry Industries in Lawton.

David was a good brother and a great uncle. He loved playing games at holidays and family gatherings with his great nephew and great nieces. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parnets, three brothers, Don, Jim and Doule and two sisters, Doris June and Delores.

Survivors include sisters, Marilyn Anderson, Denise Patterson and husband, Rick, all of Marlow, Debbie Del Hierro and husband, Dan, of Euless; sister-in-law, Ann Bridges of Marlow; nephew, Darren Bridges and wife Jana and nieces and numerous other relatives and friends.
