DeSoto - Charles Thomas Carr, Sr., 92, died on Thursday, March 10, 2011, in Dallas.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Lacy Funeral Home, 1380 Harbin Drive in Stephenville, with Pastors Paul Ganther and Vernon Sansom, Jr., officiating.

The family will receive visitors Sunday from 4 - 6 p.m. Burial will be at the West End Cemetery.

He was born October 5, 1918, in Selden to Ruth Hatchett and Luther Carr. He graduated from Stephenville High School in 1937. C. T., as he was fondly called, was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Stephenville where he served as an elder for many years.

When C.T. married Wanda McMains in 2002, they joined the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ovilla. He was an Army Sergeant in the 36th Infantry Division during WWII. He took part in five major engagements and was decorated with five Bronze Stars and Infantry and Combat Badges. C. T. retired after working more than 35 years for Exxon as a technical foreman in the Andrews District.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linnie Marie Walker Carr, and two brothers, Robert L. Carr and Wendall Hatchett Carr.

C.T. is survived by his wife, Wanda Bordner McMains Carr; his son, Charles Thomas Carr, Jr. and wife, Linda Rogers Carr; a granddaughter, Melinda Michelle Carr; and a grandson, Charles Thomas Carr, III and wife, Sara Neff Carr; two great-grandsons, Luke Everett Carr and Wyatt Emerson Carr; two sisters, Dorothy Tabor and Mattie Nell Curry; a stepson, Philip McMains and wife, Verna; and a step-daughter, Susan Garrison and husband, Bill.
