GLEN ROSE - Billy Paul Baker, Jr, 61, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, November 4, 2010.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Glen Rose at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Oplin Cemetery in Oplin.

 Billy was born in Batesville, Arkansas on July 6, 1949,

He is remembered for an exceptionally meritorious career with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as the Park Superintendent at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose. This service of over 37 years included respected roles in law enforcement, search and rescue and numerous community organizations. His dedication to the citizens of Glen Rose and the State of Texas was second only to his love for his wife and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aileen Dickson and Billy Baker Sr., and his sister, Martha Smith, and brother, Michael Welch.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pam Baker of Glen Rose, his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Credence Baker of Stephenville, his sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Pete Higgins of Dublin, and his sister-in-law, Paula Baugus of Abilene.
