Billy Joe Hare

DE LEON — Billy Joe Hare, 75, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at De Leon First Baptist Church with David Kely officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory in Comanche County with Nowlin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hare was born on Aug. 8, 1932, in Gorman, to the late James C. ‘Slim’ Hare and Irene Kirk Hare. He married Evelyn Carruth on June 11, 1950, in De Leon. He was a farmer, rancher, and a member of the De Leon First Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of De Leon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carroll ‘Rabbit’ Hare.

Survivors include wife, Evelyn Hare of De Leon; two sons, Cliff Hare and wife, Helen, of Denton and Steve Hare and wife, Trish, of Ardmore, Okla.; daughter, Cathy Hare of Stephenville; and two granddaughters, Heather Hare and Jenny Hare.
