MONTANA - William “Curtis” Whitt, 64, died in Helena, Montana on Friday August 20, 2010.

Born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky on February 22, 1946, he was the eldest son of Dorothy “Griffin” Whitt and William Auxie Whitt. He grew up in Stephenville and lived there before moving to Montana three years ago.

He is survived by his seven children, Stacy Dean Whitt of Ramona, CA, Misty Dawn Sarratt of Arlington, Curtis Wayne Whitt of Stephenville, Cristy Eve Whitt of Dallas, Buddy Joe Whitt of Desdemona, Jenna Straughn of Deerlodge, MT and Adam Whitt of Deerlodge, MT. He had 19 wonderful grandchildren. Also is survived by his father William “Bill” Whitt of Stephenville and brother Danny Joe Whitt of Lingleville. Preceded in death by his mother Dorothy and sister Elaine Starnes. Curtis had many cousins, nieces, nephews, best friends Mary Whitt and Charles Ratliff, and his side-kick Chomper. He never missed watching a Dallas Cowboys or Texas college football game. Curtis will be placed next to his mother at the Smith Springs Cemetery near Stephenville in a private family service on October 2, 2010. A celebration of his life will be held at the Griffin Reunion on October 3, 2010 at the Stephenville City Park. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
