Orena Marie Howard
STEPHENVILLE — Orena (Rena) Marie Howard, 56, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with leukemia. The family encourages you to share a story or favorite memory and celebrate her life at a memorial service on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville.
All who knew Rena understood her love for gardening, her love for animals and were touched by her kindness and willingness to help others. Rena was born on September 16, 1953 in Washington D.C. to James and Ouida Pearce. She graduated from Oakridge High School in Orlando, Fla. where she spent most of her childhood. After completion of high school, she met the love of her life Garry Howard and they spent 38 wonderful years together. Rena was employed at TXU Luminant Energy for 27 years serving on the SafeTeam.
The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to her employer, TXU Luminant Energy, Arlington Cancer Center, Arlington Memorial Hospital and friends Richard and Debbie Porter for the kindness and support they have all shown Rena throughout her illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Pearce and sister, Rissa Adkins.
Rena is survived by her loving husband, Garry; daughters, Heather Pollard and husband, Greg of Fair Oaks Ranch, Melissa Howard of Fort Worth, mother, Ouida Pearce of Stephenville; grandson, Cade Pollard; and brother-in-law, Ernest Adkins of Lake Butler, Fla.
