STEPHENVILLE - Jackie Burns Walton, 92, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville.

Services will be held at 2  p.m. Monday at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dan Murray officiating and Rev. Emil V. Becker assisting. Burial will be at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Lacy Funeral Home.

She was born on September 22, 1918 to the late David Lee and Mary Lucille (Baggett) Stockman in Purdon. She married John Maxwell Burns. He preceded her in death in 1975. She later married S.L. Walton. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Jackie was employed with JC Penney for 21 years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a volunteer at Grace Place Ministries, active in the Red Hat Society and the Ladies Auxiliary at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital of Stephenville for more than 17 years. She enjoyed reading, quilting and gardening. Her daughters describe her as a “true lover of life.”

Survivors include daughters, Kate (Billie) Van Item and Brenda Kay Burns of Stephenville; son, Jack Walton and wife, Harriet, of Rowlett; grandson, Kevin Walton of Dallas; and sisters-in-law, Frances Mahoney, Frances Reynolds and Obie Baggett of Corsicana and Rita Loukes of Houston.
