Cheryl Ann Vandagriff Tagoras
BANGS — Cheryl Ann Vandagriff Tagoras, age 55, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Lake Brownwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Gary Torian and Matthew Vandagriff officiating. Interment will follow at the Bangs Cemetery under the direction of the Heartland Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tagoras was born on February 8, 1954 at the St. Lukes Episcopal Church Hospital in Houston, to Treadwell Jacob and Barbara Ruth Euton Vandagriff. She grew up at various places throughout the world since her father was in the military and graduated in 1972 from the Charles M. Russell High School in Great Falls, Montana. She received her bachelors degree from the University of North Dakota in 1976 and then moved to the Dominican Republic where she was in the United States Peace Corps for three years. In 1986 Cheryl received her Masters Degree in secondary education from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. She taught at various locations during her twenty-six years teaching career and the last five of those as a Spanish Teacher with Bangs Independent School District. On July 1, 2006 she married Tommy Tagoras at the Lake Brownwood United Methodist church where she was a member. She was a member of the Santa Anna and the Brownwood Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. Prior to moving to Bangs she had resided in Stephenville. Mrs. Tagoras considered all of her students her children and that is why she never had any of her own.
Survivors include; husband, Tommy Tagoras of Bangs, brother, Bryan Vandagriff and wife Donna of Gatesville, sisters, Joanna Vandagriff of Plano, Patty Williams and husband Rich of Southlake. Nephews, Jackson and Landry Williams of Southlake, Matthew Vandagriff and wife Krissi of Houston, and their son Thomas Jacob Vandagriff of Anchorage, Alaska, Sister-in-law, Noma Biles of Waco.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
