Strawn - Robert Bradley (Brad) Nowak, beloved husband, father and son, passed away doing what he loved to do on Saturday, June 6, 2009 in Palo Pinto County. He was 37.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Strawn and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Mt. Marion Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Brad was born on Jan. 31, 1972 to George and Kate Nowak. He married Shan Stallings on June 11, 1994 and was a resident of Strawn. Brad had been employed by Falcon Gas Storage for just over a year, having worked the ten years prior for IESI. He was also a partner with his father in a small farming operation. He served as a councilman on the Strawn City Council.
Best known for his ever-present smile and easy-going nature, Brad lived life on his own terms, simply and joyfully. He adored his wife and children, respected and honored his parents and cared deeply for his community. He was ever ready with a kind word or funny joke for those he met and always quick to extend a helping hand when one was needed. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Brad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Adolph and Julia Nowak of Dodson Prairie; maternal grandfather Robert Swanson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; aunt Frances Lewis of Dodson Prairie; uncle Jim Paul Nowak of Dodson Prairie and brother-in-law, Scott Stallings.
He is survived by his wife, Shan, his daughter Hannah and his son Kyle of Strawn, parents George and Kate Nowak of Mingus; sister Julia of Fort Worth; brother Eric and sister-in-law Denise of Strawn; grandmother Norma Swanson of Albuquerque; parents-in-law, Fred and Linda Stallings of Strawn; niece Lauren and her husband Jeremy Jackson and their son, Evan; niece Taylor Whitenton and her daughter, Hailey; nieces Heather Nowak and Hayden Nowak; nephews Seth Whitenton and Harrison Nowak; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
