FORT WORTH — Alban K. Bridges, 89, a professional engineer, died October 31, 2010.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. A private interment will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Alban Kit Bridges was born October 5, 1921 in Stephenville to the late Allyne Thornton and Thomas M. Bridges. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the the US Army from 1943-46. He was a professional engineer with the Corps of Engineers and retired in 1990 after over 40 years of service.
Alban was a member of South Central Church of Christ and various professional engineering organizations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Philip.
Survivors include wife of 62 years, Rita Bridges; children, Alban Kit Bridges, Jr., PhD., of Evanston, Illinois, Susan Bridges, of Fort Worth, Laura Carson and her husband, Willis, of Stephenville; grandchildren, Sydney and Jamie Carson; sister in law, Dorothy Bridges; and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Building Fund at South Central Church of Christ, 1516 FM 1187, Crowley, Texas 76036.
