STEPHENVILLE—Memorial services for Linda Sue Meeks, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, at Oakdale Methodist Church in Stephenville with Kory Koch officiating. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas with Jimmy Braswell officiating. 

Linda was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, on Dec. 19, 1939, to parents Elmer and Elizabeth Earnest.  

She is preceded in death by Gene Williams and sisters Betty Dolph and Gwen Bradford.

Linda graduated from Kermit High School then attended Texas Christian University.  She lived in Odessa, Texas for almost forty years working in the oil and gas industry at Western Controls and Phillips Petroleum before settling in the Hannibal community north of Stephenville.   Linda loved to sing and discovered her love for music in Lovington, New Mexico. She spent many years performing with the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale, enjoyed playing the piano, loved animals and flowers, and most of all, loved spending time with her precious grandchildren.  Linda was a member of the Hannibal United Methodist Church of Erath County.

Survivors include husband Larry Meeks of Erath County; daughter, Kristi Millican and husband Dean of Mansfield; daughter Kelly Williams of Rowlett; brother Cecil Earnest  and wife Sue of Midland; grandsons Jake Williams, Jett Williams and Dane Millican; granddaughter Claire Millican; stepson Mike Meeks and wife Laurie; step daughter Karen Fox and husband Keith; step grandsons Kyle Meeks, Kody Fox and Konner Fox; step granddaughter Kayci Meeks; nieces Raegan Earnest, Lana Owens, Janet Carter and husband Bob, Becky Stewart, Jordan Palmer and husband Chris and son Blake, and Vicki Stewart. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Garland Education Foundation where a college scholarship for music will be created in Linda’s name.
