STEPHENVILLE—Funeral services for Alta Lois Pipes, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Pipes officiating. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday.

Alta Lois was born in Thurber to the late Joe and Willie Lawson Moody.  She married Willie Brann Pipes, Jr., on March 2, 1946 in Stephenville, a wonderful marriage of 64 years.  Willie Brann preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2010.

Alta Lois was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and GranGran.  She loved to sew, garden, travel, and spend time with her family.  She supported her children, and grandchildren in school activities, and spent many hours sewing for them.  She was an active member of the Graham Street Church of Christ, and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren on Bible Bowl Trips. Alta Lois was homemaker, and a lifelong resident of Erath County.

Survivors include her son, Willie Brann Pipes, III, and his wife Marilyn of Stephenville; daughter, Deborah and husband Mike Robinson of Stephenville; grandchildren, Melissa and husband Brent Divin of Stephenville, Michelle and husband James Marks of Lindale, Scott Robinson and Tiffany, and Marlena and husband Michael Battenfield of Gorman; great grandchildren, Allison, Elizabeth, Wesley, Hannah, Caroline, Jace, Ryan, Madeline, Brady, Hailey, Brooklyn, Elaina, Emma, and Lillian; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and husband, Alta Lois was also preceded in death by a brother, Everett; sister, Clarice Sweeney; and a son-in-law, Scott Smith.

The Pipes family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Graham Street Church of Christ for the Building Fund, or the Kindercare Youth Program.
