A funeral service for eight-year-old Lipan resident Kameron Melendez who died last week in a car accident near Cisco will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium at Lipan High School.
Kameron's father, Jayson Melendez of Wataugu, 28, died at the scene as well as Tina Adams of Breckenridge, 41, who was ejected from the vehicle.
Jayson Melendez was driving a 2005 Cadillac on Interstate 20 Friday night when he lost control and overcorrected into oncoming traffic. A pickup and Porsche collided with the car killing three passengers and injuring two others who were taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Grant Adams, 6, remains hospitalized and Kameron's sister, Lexie Mercer, 7, was released from the hospital Tuesday.
Passengers of the other vehicles were not injured. Grant's father, Ron Adams, lives in Stephenville.
Family friend Shannon Landers said Kameron loved playing basketball with his friends in Lipan. He will be buried with a stuffed monkey wearing a University of Texas basketball jersey.
A funeral will be held for Jayson Melendez Thursday in Granbury.
