Several members of the Texas AgrilLife Extension Services's Leadership Advisory Board (ELAB) were honored for their years of service.
Jerry Singleton and Rusty Rose have served Texas AgriLife Extension and the community as tireless volunteers for many years, Extension Agent Donna White said, adding that the men were presented with with tokens of appreciation Monday.
The Leadership Advisory Board is made up of volunteers instrumental in ensuring that extension programs are relevant to local needs by helping identify, plan, implement and evaluate educational programs, White said.
Meanwhile, the board welcomed new members at the regular monthly meeting, including Drew Wells, Slaten Miller and DeAnna Powell. The new members will join Chairman Gary Sult and current board members Flora Guevera, Darrell Brown, Connie Wooley, Nova Schouten and Harriet Frazer.
Also at the meeting, ELAB planned an educational program for Erath County on Internet Safety and Social Media to be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center beginning at 5:30.
The meeting will include sessions for parents and youth, according to White.
Individuals interested in serving the community through ELAB, are encouraged to call the extension office at 965-1460 for details.
