Erath County residents were awakened early Tuesday morning by a strong line of thunderstorms that ripped through the area producing dangerous lightning, hail and more than an inch of rain.
Tuesday’s rain began about 1:30 a.m. and was the largest amount to fall in a 24 hour period since 1.21 inches fell on Feb. 10, according to local weather watcher Stuart Chilton.
