Respected and popular Dublin business owner Kenneth McDaniel, 48, died on Tuesday morning at Texas Health Hospital Fort Worth, where he had been in a coma since falling from a ladder and suffering a critical head injury on May 23.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Carbon.  Burial will follow at Long Branch Cemetery.

Karen Wright, executive director of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and a longtime friend to McDaniel, described him  as a ball of energy and enthusiasm. “He adopted Dublin the day he moved in,” Wright said.

McDaniel is survived by a host of family members, including Jan, his wife of 20 years.

Memorials in his name may be made to The Humane Society of the United States or a charity of choice
