There are still more questions than answers in the death of a 23-year-old Tarleton State University student found dead in his apartment last week.
Stephenville Police Chief Roy Halsell said the body of Braden Estes has been sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed. Halsell said he expects to have a report by the end of the week.
Estes, a junior studying criminal justice, was found dead in his Bosque Crossing apartment about 10:30 a.m. Nov. 20. He was from Cleburne.
Estes’ sister called 911 after finding his body on the floor inside his apartment.
“At this point, we still aren’t sure what happened,” Halsell said. “The case is under investigation and we hope to know more soon.”
Halsell said there was no sign of foul play and would not say if Estes had any major medical problems.
University officials say they are waiting for more information on the cause of Estes’ death.
“Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the family and friends of Braden,” said Rusty Jergins, associate vice president for student life and dean of students.
