Special to the E-T
Would you enjoy seeing a parade of fashions dating back to the 1860s? If so, you might also enjoy good snacks, trivia questions relating to that period in United States history and short skits depicting life during the War Between the States.
Tickets to this event are $12.50 with proceeds going to Major George B. Erath chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy. Proceeds from the event will be used to establish a scholarship for graduating high school girls in the area.
The event will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Rotary Building in Dublin. Guests will sit comfortably at decorated tables with snacks and drinks while they watch ladies, men and children model beautiful handmade dresses and uniforms designed like those worn in the 1860s.
Models wearing Confederate uniforms include members of the 2nd Texas Frontier District No. 1904, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Thomas Harrison, commander. In addition to UDC members, ladies who are part of the Order of the Cactus Rose chapter in Deleon will also model.
