The Dublin Public Library will host its annual bake sale to raise money for the library's programs. It will be held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. today and continues from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
"This is one of the biggest fundraisers we have each year," said assistant librarian, Adina Dunn.
Library staffers have prepared and collected an array of baked goods that will delight anyone's palette.
"We will have everything," said Dunn. "There are jams, cookies, cakes, pies and breakfast burritos. You never know what will show up."
But food won't be the only thing for sale this year.
The library will also sell a plastic sack full of books for $5.
"We have paperbacks, hardbacks and even some antique books," said Dunn
Due to the city's budget woes, the library board took on the wages for one part-time employee previously funded by the city.
"We're really hoping to raise funds for [the part-time position]," Dunn said.
The library is located at 206 W. Blackjack Street. For more information, visit the Dublin Public Library's facebook page.
