During tonight’s meeting of the Stephenville Independent School District board of trustees, the board the will discuss the hiring of a new assistant superintendent for personnel/instruction to replace Debbie Hines who is retiring form the district after 28 years of service. Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd hopes to fill the position with one of six potential replacements. Among those in the running for the position are Stephenville High School principal Travis Stilwell and Central Elementary principal Judy Walker.
In addition, the board will canvass returns of the annual trustee election, recognize outgoing board members Dr. Ruth Ann Stephens and Dr. Joe Gillespie, administer official oaths of office, seat new members and elect officers for 2008-2009.
Meanwhile, the board will consider meal price increases and an eight-period day for Gilbert Intermediate for the 2008-2009 school year.
Finally, Mike Carroll will give the FITNESSGRAM report and Joseph Gillespie will give his athletic director report for 2007-2008.
