A single car rollover that occurred just before 5 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of Brentwood Street landed a local woman behind bars and left two parked vehicles damaged. According to Capt. Jason King with the Stephenville Police Department, when officers arrived at the scene, they found a 2001 Dodge Stratus upside down in the roadway. The carís driver and sole occupant, Elisha Theresa Shadden, 29, had already escaped the wreckage. In addition to damaging her own car, the alleged drunk driver caused minor damage to two unoccupied vehicles. Shadden, who reportedly suffered no injures, was taken to the Erath County Jail, where she has been charged with driving while intoxicated, second offense. The accident report also stated that Shadden was driving with an invalid license. She was later released after posting a $2,000 bond. If convicted of the Class A misdemeanor, she could face up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $10,000.
